damaged kids
don't turn off the light
don't fix me, i'm not broken
Adverse Childhood Experience can cause many physical and mental disorders that extend to adulthoods. Unfortunately, some of us have to spend our entire life fighting for childhood trauma. I want you to know that you are not alone. And I want you to give yourself a big round of applause because you are making it this far.
You are still breathing.
Same dream come to play at night, again and again
I was left by you in a strange garden
I cried and cried, wanted to grab your hand
but my body froze, I couldn't move
Had to watch you walk away, disappeared, then I woke up
No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't live up to your expectations
No matter how hard I begged, I will be abandoned and betrayed
I was five, mom was my world
You said it was for love, I was the only weapon for your revenge
You taught me to smile
If I smile
Don't believe
Had to struggle on everything
Had to spend years to learn trust & love
Had to learn how to love myself without feeling ashamed or empty
You are not their disappointments.
You are not the cause of their misery.
You are not worthless.
Live, for yourself.
You are not anyone's tools.
You are not obligated to their life failures.
Go tell your abuser,
Don't fix me, I'm not broken.
and forgive them
